Sweet Chestnut Bark Basketry

Join our one day course with Mark Lloyd and make your own stunning basket from natural materials.

Mark will explain and demonstrate the fundamentals of harvesting and processing sweet chestnut bark sustainably to make it into a strong and flexible weaving material. We’ll then spend a few hours creating some useful and beautiful baskets to take home.

Mark Lloyd

Mark originally trained as a Bushcraft Instructor 16 years ago and has been a forest school leader for the past 15 years. In this role, he has worked extensively with a wide range of people and abilities.

HIs love for nature led him to want to immerse himself in the land more and for the past 13 years he has had the privilege of tending, working, sharing and playing in his own woodland. He produces charcoal for barbeques, firewood and does a lot of green woodworking.
