More about the ELST Training method
Forest School First Aid is a specific discipline in Emergency Care because it presents the first aider with the unique situation of prolonged care of a patient in a remote setting before medical care can be provided. Also, and more importantly, as much as the first aid provisions are similar with children, they have the ability to deteriorate rapidly. In this situation, the emergency medical services may be difficult to obtain or delayed. Therefore, in light of this, a number of different skills and considerations are required compared to the urban setting.
The knowledge required to provide life saving skills should be made as simple as possible, to allow you to work as best as possible in a stressful situation. Our Forest School First Aid does exactly that!
Included in this course are both adult and paediatric First Aid skills and knowledge.
ELST have developed our 16-hour Forest School First Aid course to be as practical and as realistic as possible. The life like casualty scenarios really bring the course to life and are a highly effective way of learning how to provide first aid. One of the many unique elements of this course is the proven neuroscience of staying calm in an emergency, skills which are now used by special forces in the UK & US,
They gradually build up your skills and knowledge backed up by a realistic scenarios putting it all together.
You are assessed on the Forest School First Aid course but it is an ongoing assessment, this removes any of the formal exam nerves.
You will not see a single PowerPoint slide on your course! We have never had a complaint about this one.
Our course is approved by the First Aid Industry Body.
